Family

So Michael's mom gave us some family names to take to the temple to do the baptisms for. We wanted to go with Zach, Michael's brother. We had the names for a little less than a year. It was hard to remember to talk to each other and plan a time to go. I started to feel so guilty about having those names for so long and having those ancestors just waiting for us to do the work. It didn't help with the guilt trip by hearing talks like this one from Elder Scott in General Conference: The Joy of Redeeming the Dead. But finally we went and got the baptisms done. Now we just have to do the other ordinances.

Here Michael, Zach, Erin, and David are moving Erin's and David's new couch up their stairs. As you can tell I'm taking a picture and not helping. Michael is the one in orange. Zach is the other person you can see. David is on the other side of the couch. And Erin somehow ended underneath the couch.
So I got these nice soup mugs for Christmas and had a need to make French Onion Soup in them. I made it with Gruyere cheese. For me, one bit of Gruyere cheese was really good, The more I had though I wasn't loving it.

Random Happening of March.

Michael I and went to the Bean Museum.
Michael making me some food. Which doesn't happen all that often, because he thinks he can't cook.
I made some Soda Bread. It was good.
Michael and I went to a BYU Play Love's Labor's Lost I think was the title.
Mom and Dad came for a few days for a baby blessing. Or maybe that's why we had the blessing then? I don't really remember.

My new Laptop

So my old laptop gave up the ghost. So I got a new one.
It's has a shiny black out side.  Which is good because I grew up with IBM laptops which are always black.

However it does not have a DOT!?!?!? What's up with that? Now this is not good because I grew up with an IBM laptop which always have a dot.  I don't know how to use a pad!!  I have to move my hand off home row. And I have to pick up my finger to drag the cursor across the screen.  And then I have to move my pointer finger to the right click button.  Granted these things aren't hard and can be learned, but I feel like I'm going back a step in efficiency.
I may have to move to one of these.
Which continues the annoying have to move my hand off home row and it adds more wires to my mess.
Yep there's my rant for the day.

Personal Progress--Faith

So I completed Faith Value Experience 5 and I wanted to share my testimony on the atonement.  Now I'm not as eloquent as some people.

I'm extremely grateful, impressed, and full of love for my Savior. Heavenly Father and Christ knew what they wanted in the end, they knew what path to use to get there, and they created a plan to make it possible. They thought of everything. They knew that we had to be able to choose and planed for the fall. They knew that because of the fall nobody would make it, so they planed for the Atonement. They know so much.
I know there was transgression from the Law and we fell because of it and are cut off from God. The Lord was merciful and didn't want us to live forever in our sins, so he made it possible for us to die. Therefore, we needed resurrection and atonement: to be saved from death and sin. And the Savior did that.
The Savior suffered our pain. We can be saved if we repent, are baptized, and have faith in Christ.
I am so grateful for the atonement that I am able to repent of my sins and not spiritually perish if I follow the Lord. I am grateful that Christ went through with the plan even though it caused Him great suffering. He went through it for us that he may know how to help us in our time of need if we will let him. When I remember that he took upon Him our pains (pains we feel because of life and because of our sins/transgressions) and he suffered for us, it make me want to be better, to try my hardest not to sin.

How we spend our time.

So Michael spends his time working, I spend my time looking for work. I had an interview today and 2 rejections last week.

We're also have 2 church that we do together.  Our Ward is in the same stake as the State Hospital Branch.  So we got called to work in that branch; this was probably at the beginning of June.  We teach family home evening there on Monday to a unit there.  We have had as many as 12 people and as few as 6, but we generally get around 8 people.  We also go to their sacrament on Sunday and then the last 2 hours of our own ward.
Our second calling we got 2 Sundays ago.  We got called to be primary teachers for upper primary.
However, we may not be able to keep both callings, so well see what will happen with that.

Birthday

So Isaac had a Birthday and turned 2.  He had some fun blowing out those candles over and over.  Afterward we went down and watch Sherlock.
I've come a bit obsessed with it of late and I've only seen 2 of the 3 episode.  I found out that John has a blog and that Sherlock's web site The Science of Deduction does exist.  And the next 3 should come out sometime next year.

Hiking Stewart Falls

This was actually last Monday in June.  Amy and I went up to Stewart Falls.  At the beginning of the trail there were still some trees that had fallen and were right of the pathway, so we had to either go over them or under them.  I choose to mostly go under them.  However, on our way back there were some people cutting them down to clear the path.
While we were at the falls we were the only ones.  When we were walking up we ran into a couple and a runner.  When we were going back, we ran into like 3 big groups and a couple of small ones (We ran into a family reunion where some of the people were from Cary. It's always surprising of who you can meet here in Utah during the summer time).  By that time it was getting quite warm.  So I would say 9 something is a good time to do the hike.
Up near the falls there was still snow on the ground.  The water from the falls went underneath the snow.
Amy and the Falls
Us and the Falls
We made a small fire.  It did take us a while.  But right after we set it up the correct way so air could get in we had no problem.  We toasted some apples and cheese.  We ate the cheese with some crackers.  It was good.
This little guy liked watching us eat/cook.  He made a  funny little noise.  The best way I could describe it is a chirping like sound.
These next animals we saw on our way down the mountain in the car.  We went slowly and I got some pictures.
A deer.
A Turkey.

Exersice or Games

Michael's old ward had a get together.  And after the food someone set up a four square court and the game began.  Michael played but I did not.  He was sore afterward.
He made it to king sometimes.
Michael also got a kid basket ball hoop. We figure it might come in usefulness later in life.  But it comes in usefulness now.  Michael takes a brake from the computer and makes some hoops.  We took it over to Zach's door hall.
It was fun because of the large space.

Random Pics

So I firmly believe that pictures should be looked at.  So here are some pictures of my nephew about the time that his parents dropped him off at my place around 5:30 in the morning.
He found Sally and wanted to play with it, but Sally is fragile so that a no-no activity.  But, I find it funny of how they're practically the same size but his proportion is off.  I believe that Sally is half size.
And here we are having fun watching the red light reflect in the mirror.

He's such a cool kid.

Our Life at the Moment

Michael started a new job last Monday.  He is the Operations Manager for a company called Inside Sales.  He is in train this week and possible some of next.  He's gone from 9am-6pm for training but will switch to 7am-5pm when he's done with training.  It's been fun for the month and a half of spending the day together while we were both looking for a job.  A comfortable but undeserved life.  Now I have to find something to do with my day.  I am volunteering with the Red Cross.  I'm helping with their Run for Red fundraiser.  So that is our life at the moment.

It's official

My mom wanted to see the diploma.  We got it from the mail on Friday before we left for Payette.
So I've graduated.  It says that I graduated in the year of the university 135th, I thought that was cool.  I'll be walking in April.

Hair Cuts

So Michael posted on Facebook that he made an appointment for a hair cut.  I think people were expecting more from that remark then they should have.
We have the before shots, which are the next 2.  Michael doesn't like how it flips out.
The Day of: after the hairdresser straightened it.  Next 4.
The next two are a whole day after he straightened it himself.
He likes it. he thinks it looks better than before, but thinks he'll like it better in a month or two.

Home Coming Parade

So we went to BYU's Home Coming Parade.  We went early and had free, blue pancakes.  They were good.
This is us waiting near the Creamery for the Parade to get to us.
 The beginning of the Parade!
 Yay for the color guard
The Band--They were playing the fight song, so Allison was able to see how much she remembered of it.  She went home and practiced some more
 Cosmo!
 George Q. canon
 Some cool dancers.
It was also a ninja parade
 a Smart Car
 Elephant!
The last float.  Don't worry, we saw them taking turns with the running.
Be jealous that you didn't get to go to the BYU Home Coming Parade.
